Where In The World Are YOU? [Readathon]

Welcome, Dewey's Read-A-Thon participants!  The object of this meme is to see a visual array of where everyone is reading from.

Here are the directions:

1) Navigate to the Where In The World Are You Reading? Google Map. Zoom Out.
2) Click Edit.
3) Add a placemark (the blue guy in the top row).
4) Place and title the placemark with your name, your blog name, whatever you choose on whatever level of location you feel comfortable sharing.
5) Add in the details section your Twitter name or blog URL, if you want to.
6) Click Save.
7) Click Done.

Then, take a look and see where your fellow readers are reading from.  Click on a reader who is reading from either somewhere you love to visit, or somewhere you would love to visit, and visit their blog and leave them a little note of encouragement.

After you've done that, get out of your chair and do five jumping jacks.

Then you're done.   Mini-Challenge Mission Complete.

Get back to reading and have some fun!  One lucky participant will be chosen to receive a prize.  We'll announce the winner at the beginning of Hour 5.  Yay Read-A-Thon!!!

This was fun! (Though getting the map to load was a bit of a pain XD) It's cool to see how international the readathon really is!

I added my tag! I'm reading in BC, Canada. Enjoy the read-a-thon everyone!

Thanks for the challenge!

I'm reading from Oklahoma City! I added my tag to the map. It's fun to see people reading in the UK since I'm reading a lot of things to prepare for my trip to London later this year!

That was fun!!!

Yeah, I guess my computer is having a bad day. Loading the map and clicking on their names was a pill!!! I made swift use of my copy and paste mouse buttons!!!

Julie @ Knitting and Sundriessaid...

That was fun! I visited Seattle, Washington! :)

Map was being a bit of a pain at first (possibly because so many people were trying to edit it at once?), but I got my pin down. I'll check back later and see if there's anyone near me ... I'm sad that I seem to be the only one even remotely close to Toronto yet. :-(

That was fun. It is always nice to see where people are reading from!

What a fun idea! I love it. Nobody reading from Germany yet...I lived there for a year so I always check. =) Maybe some Germans will check in later!

This was fun :)

Added my tag, after much confusion and rereading of intructions :P I fail at technology most of the time. But yes, I think i saved it... even tagged my house XD
Completed the entire challenge too, even if I did get some weird looks from people who caught a glimpse of me through my window. Trust me to have it wide open while match-day traffic parks in my close XD
Thanks for the fun challenge!

Fun! I'm reading from Phoenix OR USA and visited a New York blogger because I've always wanted to visit that Mecca of story lovers--publishers, bookstores, theaters etc.

Read with joy

Whew, took me a while to do (maybe because so many people updating) but noticed two other people in the neighborhood!! Coffee anyone? ;)

Charlottesaid...

Fortunatly I figured how to delete the place markers I'd inadvertantly placed in the middle of the Atlantic :)

Beth(bookaholicmom)said...

I marked the map as close as I could. Google maps is not my friend, lol! It is fun to see where everyone is reading from! Great mini-challenge! Jumping jacks are done and I am ready to get back to reading!

Buffysaid...

Did it! and I did 35 jumping jacks -- my age on April 19th. :)

Amandasaid...

Awesome! I'm added, and the only person in San Antonio so far!

Erinsaid...

Love the idea of this challenge but finally gave up. Not sure if there are too many people updating or what, but Google Maps kept doing odd things, like scrolling and scrolling north all by itself with no way to stop it. Oh well...I had fun seeing where everyone is, anyway!

joannasaid...

That was really fun, great idea!

What a lovely overview! One more German on the map! ^^

Thank you for hosting the beginning of the Readathon!

The Google Map - Where are you Reading From meme is very cool! I couldn't get my link to work but I loved looking at the map and all of the bloggers linked up!

Lisasaid...

The map moves every time I try to place my marker. Will try again later. :)

This was cute. I marked the map as well. It's now 1050pm here in Singapore.

I added mine-- Hightstown NJ

I think I may have broken your map. I tried to enter my blue guy and my computer went all wonky and deleted the title of the map. I'm bad at this lol.

Gracesaid...

I finally got myself entered. Google maps and I have had a longstanding vendetta.
